The bench
Made one
at a time
Everything comes off the same bench: one hide, one pattern, one pair of hands. From a saddle that has to carry a rider all day to a wallet that should soften with use, the method doesn't change.

Cut by hand
Hides selected for grain and weight, then cut with a head knife — never stamped out in a rush.

Saddle-stitched
Two needles, one waxed thread. If a seam ever wears through, the rest of it holds.

Measured for the horse, the rider, the pocket or the tool it has to carry.
